As a teenager, I was always playing sports and somehow always ended up in the Athletic Training room with one injury or another. This time led to my desire to be in the sports medicine field. After attending Western Carolina University’s Athletic Training program, that dream slowly dissipated. I was still in love with the rehab, just not the injuries. After a few years of “finding myself”, I attended Wake Technical Community College. There, my passion for helping people was rekindled.
My training through Wake Tech’s Therapeutic Massage Program included over 500 hours of instruction in a wide variety of modalities as well as anatomy, physiology, psychology, kinesiology, and ethics. After graduating in 2011, I passed the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx).
After years of working in several spas in the Raleigh area, I finally realized my dream of opening my own business: New You- Therapeutic Massage. Here, I can use all of my modality skills to create a customized massage, just for you.
I specialize in fusing intuitive touch with proven medical massage techniques for your lasting health. Trained in more than 20 modalities, my specialties include Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Cupping, and more. As your massage therapist, I will bring my keen intuition and extensive body knowledge into every session and we will customize a treatment plan to fit your needs and goals.
No two bodies are exactly alike and not two massages are exactly alike. I care about you as an individual and that will show in every massage I do. Contact me today to set up an appointment, and let me help you on your journey of becoming a brand “New You”.
I went from a single parent unsure of my path to acquiring a life of healing.
Once I had my son, I knew that I had to make some tough life decisions.
Whatever my decision was to be, it had to be meaningful, flexible, and something that could keep me grounded.
In 2008, I came across an ECPI (School of Technology) commercial, marketing their massage therapy program in Raleigh, NC. It was a perfect course for me. I got started right away.
I was excited and determined to do my best.
Looking back on it, I figure it had to be a divine intervention.
As I went through the courses, my reasons broadened into a steadfast curiosity about human anatomy. Even a car accident on the way to school couldn’t keep me from attending. It was hard work that paid off.
In 2009, I graduated with National Honor’s.
After becoming a licensed massaged therapist, my internship at Massage Envy got me in the doorway of professionalism.
During my 13 years there and being committed to helping others with their various cases, I learned different approaches to better assist them.
Their happiness became the focal reasoning as to why I enjoy what I do.
With all of my reasons and the confidence in my work, I took a leap of faith and started my own business, set to have a new approach to massage therapy.
So, from motherhood to my spiritual calling,
I take pride in doing my part assisting others towards good health.
Not only do I find comfort in helping others. It feels good to know that people will take the time to help themselves.
It’s what they deserve!
